is it not worth getting a quadcore if you only game :o
But i i bought a little duel core, it wouldn't exaclty be 10/10 wouldnt it? and just $200 is extremely reasonable for a quad.as for mouse, screen etc, i have an old 16 inch crt laying around that should still work, plus it has i higher refresh rate than most lcds which means higher frame rates without tearing!i could just but any old mouse, keyboard etc.the os will be my old copy of winxp.I plan on buying a second gpu when they become super cheap.
Running a new graphics card on an old 16-inch monitor is a terrible idea, even if it is a CRT. A graphics card is only as good as the monitor it is powering, and the one your card will be powering is crap.

I need to lie down...
I would think with that kind of budget you could squeeze in a $250 22'' 5ms Widescreen LCD somewhere.

Or better yet, save your money and get a high res monitorI change my vote from 8/10 to 6/10. If you want 10/10, get another hdd, another 4870, a better monitor, and better ram.
i have a hd radeon 3870 on an old 17in crt and it looks better than it does on my friends lcd
