I have Gigabyte Geforce 8800GTS 512 bios = xxxxx.xxxx.xxxx5and a Evga Geforce 8800GTS 512 = xxxxx.xxxx.xxxxx6The question is will these two card SLI well together? At the moment they are both sli and am just not sure if its working. with 3d mark 06 17621 eventhough the bios are different. The evga is the master because i got it first. The two cards are both overclocked to the same speed hopefully. GPU = 702memory 1000Quick Sli Question.
anyone?Quick Sli Question.
A slight firmware difference like that wouldn't be enough to prevent SLi.
As long as it states SLi is enabled and you are using the appropriate bridge between the two, you're fine. Or if you must, I would suggest hitting up both cards' respective sites and getting their latest firmware, if there is any available.
Cheers man
You can run both the card in SLI just fine. However, the slowest card will act as the defualt speed for both cards. You should still be able to OC both of them, but they have to be the exact same speed to work. That is for now. When Nvidia ever decides to get off it's fat, lazy butt and let use mix both speeds and GPU's (which they have kept saying they will at some point as the SLI GPU's do support this feature), then this wont be an issue anymore. But yeah, just put both those GTS babies together and enable ''SLI'' in the Nvidia control panel, then reboot. Thats that.
cheers
i thought u needed exactly the same specs on both video cards .. and normally depending on the comany, the bandwith differs .. but thats just my opinion, i didnt read enough on SLI.
I thought for SLI to work, you need two of the same graphics cards.
I thought for SLI to work, you need two of the same graphics cards.
It doesnt have to be the exact same brand, but the specs have to be identical. That's what I was told..
yeah tough i head having the same brand make it maybe more stable or so or better perfromances by not even 1% lol as long it same card should work overclocked or not
well id say its working fine based on the 3dmark score, whats your processor?
I thought for SLI to work, you need two of the same graphics cards.
Initially it did need to be that way.
Then a few driver revisions later allowed for different brands to inter-mix.
Nowadays at least on the ATi side, you can intermix different cards of a given family e.g. a 2900xt and a 2900 pro. now ATi and NV are both trying to work a way of getting the CF/SLi to work with upcoming integrated GPU's, so that it'd make sense to include an integrated video chip in a high-end motherboard for example.

what's your score for 3d mark 06 ?
