I currently have an AMD Athlon X2 5000+ on a AM2+ socket. I have noticed that in the last few months, I have been doing more video editing, photo editing and gaming and would like to ask a few questions about upgrading to a phenom CPU.1) Should I upgrade to phenom now or wait until the 45nm revisions come out awhen I upgrade my PC next year ?2) What performance gains would I get from using current phenoms over my 5000+ ?3) What is the best 'Bang for buck' phenom out there now ? I am putting off goin with intel as I am an AMD fan, who would like to help the company in their time of need ! Buying an Intel CPU would mean buying a new motherboard which I want to avoid !AMD Phenom for Video editing, Gaming and Photo editing
O would personally wait the the denebm more cache, runs cooler, higher clock maybe, but if not go for the 9850, u will see a big boost doing video editing and such using a quadAMD Phenom for Video editing, Gaming and Photo editing
1) wait for 45nm procesors reviision, or at least phenom x3 nice better than penom x4.2) and 3) The good : - phenom has quad core for x4 and triple core fior x3, more read faster. - has a combination with name amd spider : is a combination of amd phenom processor, amd 7-series chipset, and also ATI HD 3800 series. -more cheap than intel processor with same core (but intel not have triple core) - more virtualization tech, good for gaming and design graphics, and also editingThe badness : - With the same core , amd phenom do not haeve a good performance than Intel Q-series, because amd divide a way to works became 2, with another functuion each others. not same in intel which combine all the work in one way, more faster and efficient.oh, ur AMD fan like me? at now i still have AMD athlon X2 4600+ for gaming annd design work. i never want move to intel until now..
Dude you have no idea about what you are talking about,,,the Q6600 is better than the Penomx4 in nearly every single way!
You miss read what he said, he said the phenoms do not hav same performance in comparison to clock (core), and + if the x4 9850 is as good as the q6600 wouldnt the x4 9950 be better than the q6600 ?
