I got an E2160 at stock voltage which is overclocked from 1.8 to 3.0ghz (FSB from 200 to 333). It did have an Arctic freezer 7 on it but i replaced it with a cheaper Akasa AK965 which is cheaper quieter and better (better temps). Rest of my specs are a Gigabyte P31 mobo (great value mobo, dirt cheap and a great overclocker) a 7900gt OC which overheats a lot because of the POS stock cooler and a couple of seagate hard drives, 2 gigs of OCZ platinum. good thread but could be better if you include pictures. Also I think the Q9450 is on sale at newegg.I have a Ds3l and E6550 running @450 FSB or 1800mhz and 3.15. Ram is crucial balistix @900 and cooler is zerotherm. My 3dmark 06 result is 11500 with a 3870 running with 870 core clock and default ram.
I got my e8400 running at 4.54Ghz on a Gigabyte P35 DS3L, Arctic Freezer 7 pro, fsb 505Mhz, mutiplier 9x, Antec 900 case + an extra 120mm fan, all case fans at medium. Raised the cpu voltage by .01875 from the stock voltage.

You'd need to add the testing section as well. As that's the most important part of OCing (other then actually OCing), as you need to make sure that your system is stable. Also link to programs like Prime95 for stress testing. You also may want to look over your comment about memory as well. I can downclock my ram from 800 mhz to 667 without needing to touch the FSB, just by changing the multiplier that is use to generate the memory speed.Check over for spelling as well, and if you can, add links to reviews for all of the products that you've listed.Needs some more work, but good luck :).Also, if you want, I can cook up some header images or really any other help if you want, feel free to PM me ;).

Nice topic but it needs to get updated.
Core 2 Duo E8400 (i wont input the 8200/500 for obvious reasons) an awesome performer for its price, though when games are made for quad cores, these will start losing ground to cpu's like the good old q6600, but for now, a premium product recommended to everyone i tend to disagree about future how quad core q6600 be better, since it been shown, that games will not in future be ''made for quad core'', dualcore will still be used, the main fac is, quad core is for multi purpose pc, not purely gaming. Main areas why dual core will i personaly think be allways top of game is due to core speed, it doesnt matter how many you have, in the end a dual core with 4ghz will allways beat a quad core with only 3gh. It been shown now and also in future will most likely not change. I advise people who want to get quad or dual must write down or think of what they need it for, if you want::A: Video editing/software designing ect and soem gaming on the side/ then quad the way to go.B: gaming mainly, with day to day tasks, the dual much better, also for OVERCLOCKING wise dual cores will allways perform better. Also id say add to fans, that the sycth ZINGping is a wicked fan and ultra quiet, also didnt see the GTX9800 VGA, since that also a good card to OC, as long as you change stock fan on it. still hopefuly you update ur page. Also just so you know x38 asus boad a wicked BOARD, to oc on, getting 4+on e8400 air cooled. also the maximus and rampage also great boards though more exspencive.
