ive been told that i need to upgrade my graphics card on my pc to prevent lag in games.ive got a compaq presario sr5440an.amd athlon 64x2 dual core processer 5200+ nvidia geforce 6150se nforce 4302gb ramwhat is the best graphics card that will work with my comp for under 100 bucks.
I would just go with an 8800GT. It's a bit more than a 100 bucks but it's going to help with those lags. Personally, I wouldnt settle for anything less than an 8800GT. That should be the bare minimum. best graphics card for my comp
It's not lag.Lag is the time difference between you inputting instructions and the time it takes for the computer to process and output the results. What PSU does that PC have?
soz i dont know a lot about computer what is the psu
which would be best one for my comp 256mb or 512mb. and does my comp have a port to plug in the power sorce for the video card.ill have a look to see for myself soon but yer...
soz i dont know a lot about computer what is the psu
Power supply unit. Can you go to Compaq's website and fine your computer's specifications? It may contain what PSU your PC has.
i think it ether has a 230 or 240 volt one. i tryed to it apart before but allmost ripped apart the warrintity sticker. lol my bad. so i dont know if it has them ports to power some graphics cards
wait i think i found some specs 1 pci express x16 and 1 pci express x1 i think there things i need
If its a compaq then the powersupply will be some 250-300w unit that has no 6pin connector. The best you could probaly get without upgrading the powersupply is a 2600xt/8600GT which aren't really that great of cards but are cheap and better than what you got.
hey is there any good graphics cards that have rgb becuase its a bit of a hassel to have my 360 and my computer both connected to the one dvi port. and which of the graphics cards would u suggest in 8600gt range.thanks

They're probably a couple months away.
so the graphics card that you suggested will work well with my pc and i wont need to worry about powering it from the power supply. right?thanks
Hey, just wondering. How does the HD3650 compare to the 2600xt or a 8600gt?
