Realistically, how hard would it be for me to build a PC?

OK the most advanced thing I've done inside of a computer is changing RAM... realistically, how long would it take for someone like me to learn how to build a PC and build one?Realistically, how hard would it be for me to build a PC?
I haven't ever built one, but I'm sure people here would say it's not hard at all. There are videos on YouTube telling you how, and everybody here would give you the parts you need for building a computer. Realistically, how hard would it be for me to build a PC?
Learning how would not take you very long. Just read a good guide on the Internet. It's simpler than you think. As long as you can read instructions and don't do anything stupid, you'll be fine. Actually building it shouldn't take you more than a few hours, depending on how fast you go. Newegg.com is my favorite place to buy computer parts. Good luck on your build.
For the building processor it takes about 1-2 hours if you want to be real careful and as for learning just read these guides http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1NxsHpaL_s http://www.corsairmemory.com/systembuild/report.aspx?report_id=78237%26sid=1 (ignore the heatsink and bios section) and ask a few questions here. That should be enough since its really not that hard, I did it at a very young age, you have a board to help you, and you only have to buy 8-9 parts.
OK thanks a ton! Sounds alot easier than I thought. I'm considering doing this soon. :)
its pretty easy, but you will want a few hours. basicly everything has slots that fit into each other and most mobs now have labels on the mob saying what all the conectors are for. you just plug the bits into the mob like lego. all the parts have detailed instructions saying how to install them. just make sure you put risers under the mob in the case
Its pretty easy. I would recomend a modular power supply though. The thing that slowed me down was the excess cables and how to hide them.
Do a lot of research before buying any items ,make sure that you have everything compatible, and the quick installation guide that comes with the motherboard will help alot, make sure that you have a friend or someone to rely on in-case of having any problemsIf your build went fine, believe me ,you will become addicted to building your own pcs ......lol
Depends on your build. It took me several hours because it was my first time building a PC. 8 hours because I had to read manuals, ask questions on the forum, watch Youtube videos, and read guides. My actual time, physically putting the PC together would probably total out to be less but it was pretty time consuming, not to mention overwhelming for me. When I got everything up and running, I had to make sure everything was working properly. I did run into some issues but a few questions here and there and they were addressed and fixed. On top of that, I had to redo all of my cabling and wire management because I didnt do a great job when I first put it together. Now, it's so spacious inside and very roomy. Air flows perfectly. Hamsters can run around in it and not trip over cables or wires. As a newbie, I think I did an excellent job. You gotta have a lot of will and determination, and if you have a HUGE case like mine, lift with your knees, not with your back. It's going to take quite the effort. But it's not impossible. Once you're done, it's going to be so EASY building your next PC. That's how I feel now. But the first run through will be a bit overwhelming and complicated. Make sure to ask a lot of questions on the PC Hardware forum because someone will definitely help you, and keep bumping your thread if it's not answered. That's what I did. You're going to be fine. Best of luck and enjoy.
