Worth upgrading to Vista?

Well I have Xp Pro 64 and I'm encountering compatibility issues, which means I'm going to have to by some new (compatible) hardware. The cheaper alternative to to upgrade to Vista Business 64 which does support my hardware, however, I'm a power user - is Vista slow to start-up / do tasks? And how much slower is it in terms of gaming? I want to know the real limitations of Vista first because I can always buy new hardware if needed (my stuff is old anyway) and stick with XP if it is really bad.Added question: will Quicktime work in full (including non-blacked-out volume/seek bar)with Vista Businesses? It doesn't work with XP Pro(the seek bar is black so you can't see where you are seeking to/from, what volume you have ect).Worth upgrading to Vista?
Vista is just as good, if not better than XP. The only problems are companies lagging it with driver support but if you have modern hardware it's nothing to worry about. Sounds like a Quicktime problem, use VLC or Media Player Classic.Worth upgrading to Vista?
vista is fine now and has great driver support for new hardware, games run basicly the same as xp now if you have 2gb ram or more.
Assuming everything is the same and you arent experiencing any compatibility issues vista is still a marginal downgrade performance wise. Its a very small downgrade though and is only noticed by people who min/max every aspect of their rig. As of now you can safely upgrade to vista without losing anything you would actually notice. Its not like 18 months ago when vista was a 10% performance drop across the board for pretty much everybody.
