Its actually not its own memory, the card itself only has I guess 256 or 512mb of ram, however the rest of it is 'hypermemory' (could be some other name) which basicly means it steals your laptops DDR2 ram (you prolly have 2-4gigs of it) and uses it for gpu-processing. It can actually be seen as stolen memory and its generally not really that useful since processing and using it is slow and your working with less system RAM at the same time.Nvidia 8600 GS
My other computer has an integrated chipset that is 880mb that can easily run half life 2. Given that the 880mb can do that much, would the additional 1.2gb on my current computer make a similar difference?
