slying 8800 GT

I am still debating on either slying 2 8800 GT's or buying a gtx 280. What do you guys think?slying 8800 GT
gtx 280 is far more better,slying 8800gt can't beat it at high resolution,what resolution will you game at ?slying 8800 GT
GTX 280 has better performance and lower power consumption compare to 8800GT SLI...But it will cost you more than $300 to get GTX280, while you can get 2x8800GT SLI less than $300...
well I want to play at a high resolution. I don't mind paying more then 300$. I already have a 8800 GT but I want to play at higher resolutions and crap like 1900 by 1200 or something to those so gtx 280 it is thanks :).

neither...get a 4850 or 4870 radeon. sli is a waste.
ATI is a waste as i'v said before I refuse to buy from them as they gave me constant problems with their graphics cards.

Befor upgrading ask yourself this...What size in my monitor... if your anwser is 22'' or smaller then... upgrading is a complete a total waste.. You won't see any games come out in the next year that will make the upgrade worth it.

I buy nvidia and they work for me.I bet your an ati fanboy for life :).
well i'm getting a 24 inch monitor this month :D.
Dont get caught up in the hype, GTX280, blah blah, and blah.. Remember, the 9800GX2 is essentially two 8800GTs in one card. So an 8800GT in SLi is the way to go economically. Save a lot of money and dont have to feel it in the pockets. If you have a monster rig, then get GTX280 so you can SLi that later on, or 3-way SLi. Care to post your specs first?

[/QUOTE] actually no im not a fanboy. my current desktop has an 8800gt on it. i just dont want you to give someone false information on the best card out there currently because you have a grudge against the whole company.

I can understand the latter problem, but it's been my experience that people who prefer one company over another despite overwhelming evidence to their ignorance. ATI has worked fine for millions of people, as has Nvidia. I've had problems on both sides of the fence quite a few times. My friends EVGA 7300GT recently had its fan seize up, and it blew four capacitors. Another friend had his X800GTO apparently running well over 100c for months, and the card finally bricked. I've had issues with both Nvidia and ATI board partners regarding warranty issues, and I've had equally annoying drivers issues with both companies. If I gave up on one or the other after a time or two, that would be foolish. Giving up on a particular board partner for selling you crap is one thing, but not the whole company.
