ok, now following the other thread I guess I have no idea about pc's these days, So can you guys suggest some pc setups around my budget.I've about 4000-5000 to spend, but saving on that couldn't hurt. I want a few things out of this pc such as tri-sli(280gtx's if possible) and a 24'' monitor something with 2ms response, preferably intel also. With the suggestions I'll need it put together from where I buy it, so maybe an online store or something? Thanks for the help guys, cheers MattNew pc build suggestions
ok, first, send me a thousand or so of that. second, if you're really set on the absolute most powerful graphics possible, get a bigger monitor. like, 30''. third. quadfire will be cheaper than tri-sli, go with 2 4850x2's. the numbers aren't out yet, but I bet that ATI's card will win. D, will you be multi-tasking? if you plan on video editing or other crazy stuff, go with a quad core, but if you just wanna milk the everliving crap out of crysis and make it weep, use a higher clocked dual core instead. lastly, newegg.com. build it yourself, get an even better system for your money. if that is out of the question for you, (come on, it's like legos now) I've heard good things about avadirect.I hope the hunt works out for you and you're satisfied with what you end up with.New pc build suggestions
Build this
Build this
link doesn't work mate. So ATI's 4840x2 will be better than the 280gtx's? I wont really be multitasking, but dont know how to overclock.
don't know how to overclock and don't multitask, you can get a dual core with higer clock speeds cheaper than lower clocked quad cores, so that seems like the route you want to take.

www.newegg.com (www.tigerdirect.com and www.ncix.com for canadians). What are u using your computer for? In most cases, thats way too much money. it would be considered a waste unless you use your computer for something special and need odd parts or something. you have to realize no matter what you get now, a few months from now more advanced parts will be out and your current build will be cheaper. you would get more out of buying a computer every half of a year with that supply of money than just splurging on one...tho i advise you just get one for a while. even so, a really good one now wouldnt be much over 1000.
First of all, put away $3500. You can build a monster gaming PC with just $1500, assuming you already have a monitor. If you do, then you're set to go. If you dont have a monitor, look to spend around $1700-2000. Put away the rest and stop flashing that money. :P

I think HD4870x2 Quadfire will win it.
m in australia, so comp parts arn't as cheap as you guys. I need to spend more over here. At the moment only have a 19'' crt, so want a 24''ish lcd.
alright it took some work but I found a site in Australia where you can buy your computer parts in. Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6 Motherboard

Sub-Total: $3,205.65 Now I didn't include the graphics cards because the ati 4870 X2 is coming out in mid august-early september so it would be better to wait for them. Now a 4870 X2 is basically just two 4870's on one die. Now if you run 4870 X2 in crossfire you get quadfire(4 gpu's). Its a much better deal than tri SLI and I believe it should cost about $1000 in Australia(guessing), so I definetly recommend going with that. Also since you have a monitor that can display HD resolutions(1920x1280) I included a blue-ray reader and also some top of the line speakers/soundcard. OH and the extra fan is for your case so you cant put it on the side to cool your GPU.Hope this has been of some help, have fun with your computer and remember to post pics for us when you build it.
