Would like input any suggestions on new system build

I'm ready to start my new system build and would appreciate any input and suggestions on the parts I have put together. Budget was a concern but not a primary issue, so I gave myself a limit of 1500 dollars for the parts I needed.I already have the Case (NZXT Apollo ATX Mid-tower), OS (Win XP Home 32bit), and burner (LITE-ON 20x DVD SATA)...Listed below are the parts I decided on based on Price/performance and later expandability to a larger case.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115036http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131219http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150297http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139007http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136218 (X 2)http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231166http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118223http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102019http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822216035.....This drive is for just all around back-up needsThanks for anyone taking the time to review this and post any opinions........ Would like input any suggestions on new system build
There is no need for 1000w PSU... 700w max.Like this guyhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE%26N=2+50001459+40000058%26Manufactory=1459%26SubCategory=58%26SpeTabStoreType=1 And I would go spend the reste on this GPU instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE%26N=2010380048%201305520549%20106792627%201067940678%26bop=And%26Order=PRICE And maybe crossfire it later on. Would like input any suggestions on new system build
There is no need for 1000w PSU...
Yeah...I new that was a bit over-kill....but the combo price with the GPU made it very atractive and am looking for modular cables in the 800 plus watt range, which has been kind of tough....

And it has your CPU combo deal.

Yes...I did actually did have that one penciled in, liked it very much and the price is right.....The ATI card is where I wanted to go in the beginning, the board I'm looking at is Crossfired enabled, though not usable for SLI (then why am I going for the Nvidia card ?.....price for now I guess).......wanted a larger PSU for later duel cards and any extras added in.....and since the mobo is crossfire, ATI makes more sense......your right about the savings from the PSU and adding it to a 4780, liked the Vision Tech with it's lifetime warranty......I may go that route even though i liked that special edition XFX card....Good suggestions....Thxxxx
And it has your CPU combo deal. Yes....saw that...they must have just added it....that makes a big difference.....8)
Is this a joke? *compares ur current pc, to your upgrades*
Is this a joke? *compares ur current pc, to your upgrades*
No...I realize whats in my 1st computer.....I'm looking to build a 2nd system....
it's for my son and it will be my 1st system build from scratch and I can...buts that's really no ones concern.... if you would like to add any input to my build, that would be greatly appreciated. ........:)*+
I'd change CPU to E8400, GPU to 4850 or maybe even 4870 considering that 98GTX black edition is 230, also 2x640GB seems useless to me. About mobo, i'd rather get something with P45 or X48. For PSU i think u alone can decide if ur son really needs it.
Your right the 2 640 Gb HHD are a lot, but for the price, I'm picking up a 2nd one, even if i don't use it now.... and going to an ATI 4850 or 4870 may be the better long term solution because of the mobo, thought I do like that 9800gtx Black edition for 200......I will take a look back at the P45 and X48 boards you mention. They seems a bit more expensive, but good deals seem to be everywhere except on mobos right now.......THXXX
I actually like the mobo you have picked out. I do agree with everyone that a 4870 would be the way to go looking down the road. This is me personally, but I always like to KNOW that my PSU will handle everything I'm gonna throw out it with no worries. I would go with your original choice of the 1000W in case you decide later to Xfire the 4870 with a 4870X2(or any other 4800 card). Even if you get 2 4870X2s you'll STILL have enough power. What I'm saying is, you won't ever have to worry about having to upgrade the PSU to accomodate any other upgrades.

It's leaps and bounds over my last card (X1950 Pro) and after manually setting the fan, I'm blowing through every game I play (dont play Crysis, but I've seen most ppl have no prob. with it)
That sounds like a winner ! ...........I think I'll give that card a try........I read that the fan speed needs to be adjusted because it was locked in around 30% at factory settings or the card will run very hot. *+
