Hi people, I have a E6750 NO OC. Its all stock. My temps on stock Intel Heatsink and fan and the temp was an average 54C.I wanted to OC so I bought a Sunbeam Core Contact and my temp is showing 43C from about 2 hours. All those temps are IDLE. Shouldnt I see like in the 20Cs?I think my CPU temps are hot.
Nope. In the 20's you're looking at a half-decent watercooling setup. 40s is normal. A sunbeam isn't exactly a thermalrightI think my CPU temps are hot.
Your not going to see anything lower than about 29c. I have a zalman 9700 and it idles at about 34c. Dont overclock uuntil you are sure the temps are ok b/c idk if 43c is ok to oc with. GL

Also, the bottom of the Heatsink and the Heatpipes dont feel warn at all at touch, I just tried touching it.
That could mean the heat is not being transferred well through the thermal paste.
It depends entirely what temp that really is.. Is that the average core temps? Or is that the Thermal casing? If it is the thermal casing thats pretty hot.. My thermal casing idles around 24 degrees celecius.. The delt most times is 5 to 7 degrees between the tcase and tcores.. Normally you want to avoid a tcore of like 63 degrees+.. Look up Tomshardwareshed core 2 duo temps.. they have a immense guide on processor temps.
Thats actually pretty high. Unlapped on the stock cooler ( which i only used for reference ) my 6750 was running high 30's to 40 flat at stock clocks. After being put on a TR 120 UE it ran roughly low 30's stock. After lapping the heatsink and the CPU HS it ran 25-28 stock at idle and only 31-33 @ 3.6 and only 33ish static at 3.8

They should be at least noticeably warm to the touch. I would check my contact and probably reset the Heatsink. Make sure you clean the area with alchohol before reapplying new TIM
That's what my temps are with my CoolerMaster CPU Fan and the CPU OCed to 3.0Ghz. It's not hot, but you might want a better fan/heatsink to OC much on.

My heat sink never feels warm, yet my cpu idles at 30C and loads around 43... IDK. E6600 @ 3.0 / Arctic Freezer Pro 7.
Did your heatsink come with thermal paste?I would take the heatsink off and apply more paste. You need good contact with the CPU to transfer all the heat! You should be able to feel heat in the heat pipes! lol
