Hey . i bought HP PAVILION DV6810 ( im geting it in 2 weeks )it has 2.1 ghz dual core 4 gb of ram and nvidia 8400m gs , 256 -can i play age of conan with this laptop ? or crysis ?. can i upgrade this laptops graphic card to a better one ? if i can , then to which ones ? can i upgrade it to 8600m gs ?can i upgrade mu processor ?. i need help with my new laptop :)
The 8400M GS is better then the build in intel graphic cards but its not designed for gaming. Its made for simple processing, watching video and other low end entertainment. You cant really run Age of conan on it, maybe you could get 10-15fps with everything on low but I wouldnt count on it, nore call it pleasant. Crysis will be impossible. Its really to bad since youve got enough ram and the cpu isnt that bad either. It, however, is pretty close to impossible (ofc theres 0.00000001% of technerds that can) to change a cpu or graphic-card in a laptop. Its possible to upgrade ram and harddisk but thats pretty much it. i need help with my new laptop :)
Since you don't have it yet, CANCEL order if possible. To game on a laptop (AoC for instance) you will want a minimum of an 8600M GT or 9500M GS or a HD3850(Not as sure about ATI mobile cards). Also a Core 2 Duo processor over an AMD Turion is a must.Anything less than something like this will be a laughingstock and these are the bare MINIMUM for laptop gaming.Stay far away from cheap laptops by crappy computer companies. If you're on a tight budget you go Asus or Toshiba and if you're rich you go Falcon or Sager.

I agree with those cards. All three of them are capable of playing this years games at decent settings with acceptable framerates. Besides the Asus M50, the dell xps M1530 is a good option aswell, the good thing is it gives you a lot of costumization.
You're right, I meant 3650. Which brings me to wonder when we'll see mobility versions of the HD4*** models. At a certain point there's going to be some serious heat issues. I am already forced to use one of these to keep my 8600M GT laptop from China Syndroming right through tables.
