I have a new core 2 duo e4600 and it only shows as one core is enabled in pc wizard and CPU-Z. it also only shows one graph on task manager. I have windows xp professional and with service pack 2. DOes anyone know what the problem isDual core with only one core enabled
Is the second core enabled in the BIOS? I know my BIOS has the option to turn individual cores on and off.Dual core with only one core enabled
mine has it grayed out but it does say yes to multi processing
What motherboard do you have.
some ecs mainboard that came free with my processor. it is made for core 2 duo and has a nvidia 680i chipset. i dont know the exact model number, but from its reviews its not bad quality
Well if it is the ECS PN2-SLI2+, then that CPU is not on there supported CPU list. I am a little surprised that it is not compatible, maybe the list is incomplete and you just need to adjust some setting, or flash the BIOS. If nothing else contact ECS.
no thats not my mobo. it has one pci e it is micro atx, and supports my processor on its list i checked when i bought it
