if I get these you I notice a difference?

SENNHEISER HD555

Will I notice a difference while playing games like CSS and Crysis ect...then from my bad old headset (horrid logitech). Right now I can hear anything in CSS so I was thinking these would help. Would they? Or would I need to get a beast sound card too. I could get the cash but If its not necessary then I would ratehr not. I was looking at this:

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer 7.1

Whats your guys opinion? if I get these you I notice a difference?
A good pair of headphones will always increase sound quality, especially over a cheap pair. These should offer great sound quality and a decent amount of outside noise isolation.Sennheiser is a good brand, plus the reviews seem positive, you may want to try them. if I get these you I notice a difference?
If you get the new sound card thing you might notice better sound quality but maybe not. depending on how bad your current sound card is.
I doubt you would hear the difference in your headphones. Usually you get sound cards for 5.1 systems and above.
you will def hear a difference, i moved from sennheiser px100's($40) to the hd555's and I noticed a huge jump, i love my 555's
I was reading some reviews on this card...is it true that my mic wont work if you use this sound card? I use Ventrillo while playing games so that would be pretty bad. Or would there be a way around if I bought this card?
I noticed a difference going from onboard audio to a SB Audigy 2, you will definitely notice a difference.

I'm thinking about getting a new sound card as well. My Realtek HD-Audio seems to serve it's purpose but I would imagine a 5.1 or 7.1 soundcard would greatly improve sound quality. I'm more than sure you'll need to pair up this sound card with some high quality speakers. From Sennheiser, to Xtreme gamer, to Auzentech.. Honestly please, no fanboyism.. Which is the best from your experience or from reading reviews? I've read reviews and it's hard to differentiate between the three, but I've heard great things about Auzentech 7.1.

I was leaning twords Creative cause they are a name brand that is very recognizable.
Just a warning about those headphones, they are open backed, so everyone else can hear what you are listening to. I bought these on Saturday along with a Auzen Prelude and everything sounds amazing. But if you are using the headphones in a public place you'll annoy everybody.
I just found out that the Auzentech 7.1 sound card isnt really meant for games, and lowers ones FPS ingame, especially newer games. So Creative it is.

Any decent dedicated sound card will give you more FPS over onboard because their is less CPU load in audio processing.I have an HT Omega plus+ sound card, which uses the C-Media Oxygen HD audio processor, the same processor the Auzentech X-meridian is based on. The quality is absolutely great, and my games sound great too.A lot of these other brands deserve some more credit, Creative is running too much of a monopoly in the sound card market when many of these alternative cards can definitely compete.
