Why is 9800GTX+ more expensive

I dont get it, they went for a 55nm process and it means it is probably cheaper to build, all they did was increase the clocks and all of sudden 225$, am I missing something here did they add shaders or something to warrant the price increase??Why is 9800GTX+ more expensive

Isn't that good enough for you? Geeeez. ;) Why is 9800GTX+ more expensive
I think there's a 10-15% increase in performance. Can't remember the exact details, but yeah it's a faster clock, but it was just a PR launch to try to steal the 4850's thunder. It's a bit better performing (on average, less than 5%), but it's about 40 dollars more expensive in most places. That, and you don't have any selection and they're hard to find. All in all, it didn't really work in being a staunch competitor to the radeon.
I'm so proud of ATi finally dealing a good blow to Nvidia. I have NOTHING against Nvidia(used a 6800GT for 2 years), but they needed a good kick in the pants.

http://www.legitreviews.com/article/731/1/Legitreviews doesn't agree with you.1) Those were pre-8.7 Catalyst2) Anandtech isn't the de facto review source for hardware.3) 5-10% doesn't warrant a 40 dollar premium, and those numbers are also based on pre-8.7.
Did I say it warrants a 40$ premium ?You didn't even look at the Anandtech benchmarks before posting your reply. They used 8.7 beta so it's closer to 8.7 WHQL than Legit's 8.6. I don't see the 9800gtx+ being 5% faster like you said.
Because it faster than 9800GTX... I think that just nVIDIA tactic to SAVE 9800GTX series from HD4850 superiority... That's why they name it 9800GTX+ instead of 9900GTX or something like that...
I don't think either one of you is right, as performance is all over the place. If I were choosing between the two, I'd go with the Hd 4850 on the basis of it being cheaper.
