Should I Sli my 8800gtx

Hey I already have a EVGA 8800gtx and I'am thinking og upgrading a little bit. I can get another on ebay for around $200.00But would it be worth it for new games or should I try and get a 280. I also run XP still if that means anything thanks.Should I Sli my 8800gtx
if a 9800gx2 gets similar performance to a gtx 280 then sli 8800gtx's (which are just a little worse than sli 9800gtx's which r bttr than a single 9800gx2) will prob be just a little bit under the gtx 280think about it your saving 250$ off the gtx 280's current 450 price tag by doing SLI, i think SLI is definately the best choice here, i myself have sli 9800gtx's and am very happy, probly gonna upgrade to the next beast in the next generation if performance warrents it, i always have friends that want my old hardware for friend prices :Phope this helped :PShould I Sli my 8800gtx
your 8800gtx card is still powerfull and if you ask me you should wait for directx11 , nvidia will be releasing it in late 2008.

nvidia dosnt release direct x, microsoft does.
nvidia dosnt release direct x, microsoft does.
directx11 is both software and hardware so it can be released before the official directx11 from microsoft just like it did with 8800gtx/gtsedit: i know directx11 is from microsoft :D

Will, first of all if you want to Sli get that card from newegg. Much cheaper than the $200 you mentioned.

Hmmm, you are right. I thought they would have it. A lot of parts are cheaper on newegg. But I did find one for 150 dollars on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/EVGA-e-Geforce-8800-GTX-768MB-PCI-e-DX10-Video-Card_W0QQitemZ190239450094QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item190239450094
There is also one for 81 dollars now (5 bids). Just search evga 8800GTX and there is a bunch.

lol yeah there cheap on on ebay, I think I will just sli until i cant play anything anymore. Crysis still looks amazing on my comp and runs smooth on high so i dont think i have to worry about preformance for a while.thanks for all the help
I got rid of my 8800 gtx sli and got 2 9800gx2's. I have a duel boot computer in XP I couldn't use it in SLI and in Vista the memory wasn't as good so I got rid of them very quick. Now I have 2 ultras. I would stay with what you have unless you get 260's or 280's.
If you can get one for $200 on ebay, that means you can sell yours for $200 on ebay. Then you'd have $400 to spend (the $200 you were gonna spend + the $200 you got for your card). Take that money and you could get a 280. Better performance with only 1 card meaning you could SLI later.
