rate my gaming/ school PC first attempt to build
Hey i am an Architecture student and i am trying to build a solid computer that can handle anything the profession can throw at it i am also thinking about building it for gaming as well. This is my idea of the type of computer i want to build, by budget is around $800-$1,000. The way i went about putting this list together is by looking at the parts of the computer my school is offering to sell me and seeing if i can get parts that's better and cheaperwhat do you guys think?
Let me know if you want me to post the parts of the computer my school is offeringalso let me know if i am missing anythingthanks

Well, do you need a sound card? Also, PSU I would probably get a 500W or somewhere around there. Also, you didn't put a graphics card. I would probably get an ATI 4850 or ATI 4870. You also need a case. Do you have a monitor, keyboard, and mouse? rate my gaming/ school PC first attempt to build
A decent, cheap power supply would be the Antec Basiq 500W.If you're going to be using 3D design programs (and games), you'll need a graphics card. A good choice right now would be the HD 4850. You can get the Sapphire version for $175, but I'd go with the Palit at$185, as it comes with GRID.
or the visiontek version also comes with a free game and they have a lifetime warranty service
You must be talking about a different website, because Newegg doesn't give a game away with the Visiontek.
yea i have a monitor, keyboard and mouse true ido need a graphics card i wanted to get you guys idea on which will be the best for both gaming and graphic programs
ya all the visiontek 4800 series come with a copy of mass effect in their own box
yea i have a monitor, keyboard and mouse true ido need a graphics card i wanted to get you guys idea on which will be the best for both gaming and graphic programs
Well, I'm guessing that you won't be able to afford a workstation card, but normal graphics cards perform well-enough in those programs.

well you might like to get a video card. the 8800gt or 4850 are both great cards, rest looks great. A quality power supply with around 30-40A +12v and 550-600w should be what your looking at if you want to run a nice gpu.
ya all the visiontek 4800 series come with a copy of mass effect in their own box
still grid is worth it just as much. basicly you pick, awesome racer or awesome rpg/action
