When you put you're computer together and it doesn't load, there is a checklist to follow. Basically, you unplug everything except certain parts and keep adding parts.I'm not exactly sure where or what the list is, but just google something like ''Finding a defective part'' or ''figuring out the defective part'' Defective parts
I'd start with nothing but the motherboard and power supply. Make sure the fans turn. Then add in CPU + RAM + video card. Do one stick of RAM at a time. Things like drives and add-in cards can come last. Edit* I'm actually not sure if you can power on with just the motherboard, but it shouldn't help to give it a try. At the very least, do mobo + CPU + RAM, then do mobo + CPU + RAM + video.
what larry saidif it doesn't even try to boot with just the mobo/cpu/RAM, then it has to be a bad power supply or fried motherboard. try putting your old psu in and loading the computer up.
Thanks, you guys were a great help.Does anyone have a full list though? I searched google and this topics was actually the number 1 result. All the rest were ''Sell your defective parts here!'' or ''Dell uses defective parts in their computers!''
