Does a good graphics card and a good amount of RAM compensate for a slower CPU? slower CPU's
nope. ''You're team is only as good as your weakest player'' That isn't completely true, because different games/apps. use different parts differently, but it definitely can't compensate if the game/app. is CPU heavy(ex. Crysis) slower CPU's
With a question like that, I could give you any of a hundred different answers. What CPU do you have? How much RAM do you have now? What motherboard do you have? Do you have a PCI Express slot? What are the specs on your power supply? If you have a prebuilt computer, what is the model number? How much can you spend total on upgrades?EDIT: Oh, I misread the question. I thought you were asking for upgrade advice, which is probably what you're leading into. If you have a slow processor, it will limit your performance in demanding games.
Actually, your CPU is more of a ''cap'' on your framerate. This stays constant at almost any resolution.
