Q9450 Is it a good CPU before i Order ? Worth the money

Yo I am just wondering if the Q9450 is worth the ?00 price tag i want to know if its a good reliable fast motherboard for gaming that will fit in with the rest of my new Rig! I'm Just about to Order my Cpu And Psu here is the rest of my rig !GPU: 9800GTX Black Edition SLI

it is a good cpu, but not worth it when the Q6600 is still a great performer, while costing a fair bit less, so id go with thatfor a psu , id recommend sumthin like a SLI ready 750w OCZ or sumthin in the likes of it
Well dude thanks For Your Comment But I ordred my Q9450 and its arrived. So What PSU Should i get im hoping to get 3 way sli possibly 9800GTX at one point but im not too sure about CPU.

So If somone could giv me links that would be great thanks.

I use only PC Power and Cooling units. The only other brand i have used in the last several years was an OCZ in a file server which did really well. It had tight rails and very little fluctuation.

Im using the Turbo cool 1200 ESA in my main rig. Its an absolute beast. One massive rail that provides 115amps of ownage. Get one and watch it take your computer to the yard like a sissy school girl. If you dont want to go all out just get a Silencer 750 quad or something similar.
Its a good CPU but it depends on what you've upgraded from as to whether you'll notice a significant performance boost. Given the locked multiplyer it has its limitations. It's good for benchmarking but you probably won't see a massive performance leap in games etc. Few games are heavily CPU dependant but those that are will see the clear benefits of such a processor.
It depends on your budget, it might be a bit of a waste compared to a q6600 which still performs really good and is a lot cheaper. For gaming im not sure if you should chose any of these 2, its quadcore and although withing a year or 2 games might be able to use 4 cores on a usefull level, but by that time we will probably laugh at 2.6 ghz a core. If however your using it for multiprocessing software I would choose the q6600, I heard it can be overclocked nice and its just the best bang/buck. IF however money isnt a problem you could go for the q9450.

Yeh i never said was getting three i always said i was going 2 way sli 9800GTX or i was getting 1x 280GTX.

Enthusiasts would also get 3 for benchmarking, not just the actual games. As stupid as that might seem, they would consider it NOT to be a waste of money. Not to mention that more and more games are becoming able to support 3 way and quad SLI.
the q6600 isn't faster than the q9450,its 12MB instead of 6MBand the core speed is better!
