Hi....lets say i want to OC my Q6600 to 3GHz which means 333x9and i've 2GB Reaper 1066MHz ram 5-5-5-18will i've to change anything in my ram settings....like the ram ratio,volt...etc ?because my last attempt to OC went wrong and caused my OS to fail which means format is needed...in my first attempt i changed the ram to :ratio : 3.0clock : 800MHzlatency : 4-4-4-12Volt : default i guess 2.1Vmy mobo is GA-P35-DS3L thx in advance a little OCing help....
333MHz at a 3.0 ratio is actually around 1000MHz. It's entirely possible that your RAM can't handle tight timings like 4-4-4-12 at nearly their rated speed at their default voltage. I'd try clocking the RAM separately from the processor though. Loosen up the timings, set the ratio to 2.0, and get your processor clocked up that way (maybe shoot for something a little higher than 3.0GHz). Then worry about upping the ratio a bit and tightening up the timings. Personally, I'd shoot for around 400MHz reference clock, with either an x8 or x9 multiplier (3.2/3.6GHz clock speed), and a 2.5 ratio on the RAM.a little OCing help....

You could up it a bit if you like, but I'd get as far as you can on 2.1v before pushing it further. As for the processor, you'll have to find that out for yourself, every processor and board is different. Some people hit 3.2GHz on a Q6600 under 1.4v, some people have to push it to nearly 1.5v.

[/QUOTE] well i've made a little test....i did exactly what you have said and put the Q6600 V on 1.35 (i saw a lot of people who has my mobo set it to 1.35) when i entered the bios again my cpu was really hot !! it was 63c and raising so i checked PC health and for some reason the Vcore was 1.50V...i don\t why the mobo set it to 1.50 ???anyway i've undo the ocing settings
hmmm
Did you bump up your northbridgre voltage? What about your VTT?
well the NorthBridge was going to melt xDso i installed a a small fan on the heatsinkanyway everything is fixed except the X-Fi sound card...i'm afraid it's damaged...btw what is VTT ?
