help. cant get mouse to work on laptop!

so ive finally got into pc gaming and i decided i would play some old cla$$ics - such as Deus Ex and half life 1, since thats what iknowmy computer can run.i ended up buying a cheap mouse from my local Tesco (walmart to most of you) going by the name of technika, it states on the box it is a plug n play device, so no disc. ive been trying to get it going for an hour or so now, at first i thought id have to restart my comp. and it would just automatically work, which it did at first but then didnt...it just went back to the touchpad.So then i thought it must be that the touchpad is the primary device, i went onto control panel and messed around for a bit and nothing doin'. sometimes it says its connected then other times its has problems called ''code 10'' or ''code 45''. i also noticed the touchpad is called synaptics PS/2 port touchpad, which relates to the box which said it uses USB or PS/2 plug and play connectors...please someone help me!if it helps im on a medion laptop help. cant get mouse to work on laptop!

3 beeps is bad (the device is being recognized), 2 beeps is good. try all your USB ports. if that doesn't help. just bring the POS back and get a semi decent branded mouse. save yourself the headache.
you wouldnt believe what happened, i restarted my computer and my mouse worked fine, then when i got to the internet page i let it rest for a few seconds and then it suddenly reverted back to the touchpad.Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

letting you know that now ive plugged it into a different usb port it shows up as working properly on the device status. though iy says the location is Location 0.

ah jeez! i was on the first deus ex level - the one with the statue, i was like nearing the top and it stopped working 0_0 i had to use the touchpad and didnt get much further lol

Starcraft 2 as Well it why i go desktop no laptop for me i rather play the best game :P

while my parent love to have a mobile pc with enough strong to play some card game And Emulator of Old game
