cooling question?

First of all i have a zalman 9700 heat stink. Is it ok to have a fan on my side pannel to be intaking air strait onto the zalman 9700? The position the fan is in, it would be blowing it strait onto the copper barb things. Is this ok? Will it send dust and hairs and stuff into the cpu? cooling question?
Is the heatsink blowing air out that way? If so maybe put the fan in the opposite way so it sucks it out?cooling question?
Fans should always intake on the front and side, output on the back and top. Always. If you're seriously concerned about dust intake (it's not a big deal if you use compressed air to clean the inside occassionally. Don't use vacuum ever) then you can get fan filters for most case fans, but they decrease air flow significantly.
